Following military service in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, the young entrepreneur established Carl Hotten, Architect at 4460 Park Blvd.
Carl Hotten was born in Garden City, Utah on August 18, 1911 and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio with a degree in Architecture in 1936. Corporal Hotten served in the Army Air Corps between 1942-45. He served as the Chief Draftsman for C. Holmstrom (1948) prior to launching his own firm in 1954. Hotten was given the Lighting Award, I.E.S (1959) and Plastering Award by the Plaster Association (both in 1959) for Aunt Emilia's Pancakes.
