Conrad Woods, the son of actor Donald Woods, studied at UCLA and received a BFA and MFA from the University Illinois, before traveling to Europe and India on a Fulbright Scholarship to study painting and sculpture.

Conrad Woods, the son of actor Donald Woods, studied at UCLA and received a BFA and MFA from the University Illinois, before traveling to Europe and India on a Fulbright Scholarship to study painting and sculpture.

Following his travels, Woods moved to California, in 1960, and garnered gallery representation in both Los Angeles and San Diego. In San Diego, Woods showed his work in exhibitions alongside Richard Allen Morris, Guy Williams, Russell Baldwin, John Baldessari and Bob Matheny among others.

In 1964, Woods contributed to show “Polychrome Sculpture,” at Southwestern College arranged by Robert Matheny. In addition to San Diegans, artists from Los Angeles in the show included Judy Gerowitz, Ed Carrillo, Lloyd Hamrol, John Manno, Kim Stussy and more.
