Frank Gruys
Architect | 1917-1996Born in Waynoka, OK Gruys earned his BA at USC in 1939. He worked for William Pereira (1939-42, 1945-50) and Pereira Luckman (1950-53) before launching Faxton & Gruys in 1953. In 1954, the firm remodeled the Bush Egyptian Theatre (1923) by architect Frank Stevenson. Located on Park Boulevard, the theater was renamed the Capri Theatre. By 1962 the office was renamed Faxon, Gruys and Sayler.
