Gregor had shows at Lou Sander’s Art Works Gallery on Adams Avenue and at the Sander Gallery on La Jolla Boulevard before taking up with the Jefferson Gallery in La Jolla. His techniques ranged from oils and caseins to pastel, watercolors and collage in various combinations. Some of his themes included figural series, portraits, land and seascapes and non-objective compositions. In the early 1960s he was involved in a “long struggle to combine the theme of women with the pictorial problem of color.”
Additionally, Gregor exhibited at the La Jolla Art Center (MCASD), the San Diego Fine Arts Gallery (SDMA), the San Diego County Fair, Southwestern College and the Long Beach Museum of Art.
Harold Gregor maintained a local presence for years after his departure, continuing to show with the San Diego Art Guild and the Jefferson Gallery through the late 1960s, while he taught at Purdue and Chapman College.
