Ilse Hamann Ruocco

Ilse Ruocco was born in Spandau, Germany; studied art at UCLA and Columbia University; and joined the San Diego State College faculty in 1934. In addition to teaching painting, ceramics, and industrial arts, Ilse was considered an expert in interior design and textile design. She was on campus for 33 years. Ilse sold furniture, furnishings and design services at The Design Center on 5th Avenue.
