During the early 1960s, Robert Jones partnered with Henry Hester on a number of distinguished projects including their American Housing Guild Subdivision House (1961). Hester, Jones & Associates sold designs (flat-roofed and pitched roof variants) to American Housing Guild and shortly thereafter the 'Subdivision House' was awarded an 'Honorable Mention' in June, 1962 by the San Diego Chapter of the AIA. According to San Diego & Point (January, 1961), "Three Hester home plans are building at Mission Village West and Climax." 'Mission Village West' homes refer to those on Chasewood Drive, Aldford Drive and nearby streets.
